Harlesden: Footballer jailed for 25 years for 'Playboy' murder

A football star who shot dead his childhood friend in a gangland feud on a lawless housing estate was jailed for at least 25 years today [July 26].

Former Millwall striker Gavin Grant, 25, executed 21 year-old Leon Labastide in the street outside his mother's home in 2004.

Grant executed 21 year-old Leon Labastide for showing 'disrespect', initially was sparked, detectives believe, by a trivial motorcycle accident on the Stonebridge Estate.
