MORE than 1,000 mourners paid their final respects to a popular musician who was murdered while he walked home from a party.
Ian Newtion from Fulham, was laid to rest in North Sheen Cemetery, Richmond, on Friday, watched by his grieving friends and family.
The 45-year-old who was known as ‘Scoobie Santino’ was slashed across the throat with a broken bottle as he walked in a subway in Greenford on March 22.
Barry Newtion, Ian’s brother, has thanked everyone who turned up to pay their final respects.
He added: “The amount of people there showed the love and respect for my brother. The family as a whole were absolutely overwhelmed, moved and touch by the turn out and the amount of feelings that was there.”
Detectives investigating the murder of a popular musician have put up a £20,000 reward for information leading to his killer.
